Valerie Howard's Newest Book, Our God Saves

Today's blog spotlights writer Valerie Howard who has a new book coming out.

Valerie Howard is a stay-at-home mom with a 16-month-old son and two high-maintenance beagles.  She's married to a youth pastor, graduated from Piedmont International University (in that order), and resides in her hometown of West Baldwin, Maine. She loved to read and write as soon as she learned how to do both.  An ideal day for Valerie would be one where she could curl up on the couch with a hot cocoa and read an entire book in one sitting.
Her newest book, Our God Saves,  is a compilation of over 20 personal salvation testimonies.  Each life story is written by someone with a different background, and each person tells how they came to know Christ as their Savior.  One woman recalls how she tried to set her house on fire in order to kill her parents before God saved her.  Another tells of how she received Christ in a nightclub while wondering if she’d ever return home to her husband again.  The point of the book is to show how God can save anyone, anywhere, at any time.  He is powerful and nothing can stop His love and forgiveness.
Valerie, what made you want to start this book project?

Last year, I compiled a recipe book for our small church in Maine.  This year I thought, why don’t I compile a book of salvation testimonies?  The word spread and people from other states and churches also submitted their stories as well.

The book is available through the following links.

The book will be available on and on November 15th.

Valerie will be giving away a paperback copy of the book on her Facebook page. Be sure to check it out.

  2. I am half way through this book and have had to choke back the tears quite a few times already. What an awesome God we serve! It is very exciting to see how He works in the lives of people to bring them to Himself in saving faith. I can see this being an excellent evangelistic tool as well as an encouragement to those who have already come to Christ. Thank you, Valerie for taking the time to compile these testimonies. They have been a huge blessing to me..

  3. I'm glad you are enjoying the book! Thank you for your kind words! :)
